Last Leg of a Very Long Trip!

We are one hour away from landing in Bangkok…the prayers of our friends and family were heard and answered with a resounding YES!!! Not only did God put us on the plane that looked too full when we left Seattle, He put us in First Class!! He is able to do abundantly, exceedingly more than we could ask for or think of. We completely missed the night before and although we both dozed a little sitting straight up on the plane from Seattle, we did not rest. On our last leg we both slept well for a few hours. My chair turned into a flat bed with a little canopy over the top. Veldon’s should have but it was broken. We manually laid it back a bit, but he certainly got the short end of the stick. I offered to trade several times, but of course he wouldn’t do it. The flight attendants asked us if we wanted to move…heck NO!! We weren’t willing to take any risks of being moved back with the commoners, :o). First Class is crazy, and honestly I’m not sure it’s good that we have now seen how the other side lives! We got slippers, and socks, big fluffy pillows and quilted blankets that actually cover your entire body. We had orange juice while we waited to take off and a fancy dinner with real plates and silverware. Every time I woke up there was a fresh bottle of water waiting for me. This was certainly a very nice way to end the very long journey.

My heart can hardly believe that we will meet Max in just a few hours! I’m not really sure how to process it all. The wait has been terribly long and yet here we are and I can hardly remember what it felt like to wait, although technically I guess I am still waiting. I believe that everyone is planning on us taking him tomorrow. There doesn’t seem to be any talk of a return visit on Friday. That will be nice, we need to stop at the US embassy on Friday to ask for our Visa appointment to be changed. Of course we could pick up Max on Friday and still go to the Visa office, but it’s nice to check things off the list.

We will be landing in Bangkok in 57 minutes…and then the great adventure truly begins!

  1. I knew that you'd be a ruined woman in 1st class! Still, I wish that you had been able to fly that way the whole time...but am so grateful God let you have it for the last leg! I actually used that same verse in a FB post about you guys! Great minds, huh?

So I'm dying here. I have played out your meeting him a million times in my head. Was up at 1, 3, 5 and 6am this morning just to check if there was a post or FB status. It's dumb I know...how could you have possibly updated that early? But I couldn't stop myself. We are all just so excited and hopeful that things have gone well.

It's 8:49am here...I'm guessing you guys are settling into the room for the night there maybe or close to it. Morgan said you were skyping with your kids around 11. I can't wait to hear how that goes.

Love you all and am so glad that you are there safe and sound!
    Hugs from the other side~

ps. a ton of people are having trouble logging on here. i've gotten several emails and FB messages about it. Also, only Firefox will load it properly {not Safari or IE}. So weird...I always use Safari. Others are saying the screen says that the invite for the generic login has expired. If there is something I can do to help you on my end, message me. I'm happy to look into it. love ya
